The exterior of the house was "wrapped" with shear paneling before the "Eichler" panels were put on. This not only makes the house stronger in case of earthquakes, but also provides additional insulation.
It didn't take long for all of this to go up, even though it made a very dramatic difference in the appearance of the house!
The "Eichler paneling" went on next, giving it the original look we adored when we bought our Eichler!
Star wanted to "inspect" the insulation.
This picture shows the insulation, cabling, wiring and pipes in the kitchen area.

Star and Katie are fascinated by all the new smells and developments at the house.
We LOVE the fireplace stone...it was a real thrill to see it when it was done!
It was also exciting to get our front doors in place. Blue Ribbon got us a great deal on these, too.
Katie manages to be very relaxed on the bare concrete foundation as she "practices" being "back home" again.
Another exciting development was getting the garage doors installed. The Gersh Garage Door company did a fantastic job on them!
The roof was also installed during this time but for some reason I can't find the pictures I took of the installation. I'll post them as soon as they reappear. Suffice it to say that it was smelly, dirty and noisy but they managed to get it done "just in the nick of time" before the first rain of the season. Whew!
The skylights were installed when the roof was done. This picture shows the 2 skylights in the master bathroom.
